The Assistant Teacher Course brings together many basic aspects of Dr. Montessori's philosophy, leading to an understanding of the child's abilities and strengths.
The course program will be delivered in 10 days, the program opens the way for adults to help the child's development process both at home and at school. The program introduces Montessori philosophy, practice and some basic practical skills useful in interacting with children. The course is suitable for teachers working in Montessori schools, for parents on the way, for caregivers and professionals from other fields. This will also be a preparatory work for those interested in an AMI 3-6 Teacher Certificate course. The course work will include lectures, reading and discussions
Eligibility: Candidates from all walks of life and from various professions are welcome. The course is open to anyone who wants to know more about Dr. Montessori's philosophy
Date: 18-29 / 8/2019 between Sundays-Thursdays
Language: English, Hebrew translation accompaniment
Location: May Campus Lehi 31, Bnei Brak
Times: Course times will be between 9:00 and 16:00 daily. There will be time for lunch and short breaks for making tea / coffee
Participants are asked to be very punctual
Attendance: Participants must have a 90% attendance to receive approval

Course / Module content: The above course, brings all the foundations on which Dr. Maria Montessori rests in her research process. Through the course we will take these foundations and open the topics in depth to understand the method and worldview of the child and his powers

Tasks: Participants will be required to submit written work at regular intervals during the course, which will include theory papers, instructional preparation instructions for Montessori study, and observation reports. All tasks must be completed to get approval. The original work must be submitted, any form of literary theft will be considered disqualification of the course form.
Observations: 8 hours of observation will help provide perspective for the understanding gained from the lectures
Reading the books: Dr. Montessori's library will be provided during the course

Course instructor
Nalima Mahsar, AMI Certified Coach (Primary 3-6), won the AMI degree at age 3-6 at the Sir Ralan Tata Institute, Mumbai in 1988. Since then she has been working with children for 19 years, starting at the Mumbai High School Activity School and then at the school Sappling-turning. Nalima joined a coaching training program in 2009. She was part of the Montessori Teacher Training Faculty in Mumbai and Kerala in India, Wagley and Hang in China. She currently serves on the training team at Chandigarh in India, Shenzhen Chongqing in China. She has also conducted assistant teacher courses in Mumbai, Chandigarh, and Ahmedabad
